Tekapo Recreation Zone Trail

Walk, run or MTB (Grades 1 -3)

Description:  A network of trails composed of formed roads and single tracks, located in the Tekapo Forest on the southeast side of the township.

Wind-sheltered, the Tekapo Recreation Zone offers breathtaking views from its higher elevations - Ridgeview Road and the sweeping vistas along the Forest Edge trail. Trails descend from Ridgeview Road - the highest point is the cell tower.

Trails range from grade 1 - 3. Most are 1 and 2.

Getting there: There are two access points to the trails: one at the Resource Recovery Park, Murray Place: the other is at the Cemetery Carpark, located at the top of Mistake Drive.

Dogs are welcome.  No motorbikes.

Horses are welcome on the Forest Edge trail and formed roads only.
